The organization focuses on the humanitarian side of post-football related issues, providing hands-on assistance to help retired players deal with hardships they may face after football. NFL legend Jerry Kramer, who played for the legendary Vince Lombardi on the Super Bowl I and II teams, facilitated the formation of the organization. Many members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and other NFL legends join us in our efforts. display: none;"> by: Leroy Kelly </div> </div> <div><div>It was great to travel to Cleveland today for the Browns season opener and most importantly to help raise funds for the Gridiron Greats. </div> <div> </div> <div>I left Philadelphia this morning at 9:00 and arrived in Cleveland at 11:00 am;  first stop was the ESPN Radio set which is located in the Municipal parking area at the stadium.  I always love to go to the stadium on game days as the energy is just fantastic ,  It was a great set up and I had a great time being on the air and talking about the Gridiron Greats, some of the issues facing retired players and of course, the Browns. </div> <div> </div> <div>After the radio show, I headed over to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame for the Miller Lite Gridiron Greats tailgate event.  Lot's of fans turned out for the pre-game party and fundraiser for the organization.  I had a chance to sign some autographs and take pictures with fans while the Gridiron Greats had a silent auction and merchandise sale.  Eric Metcalf even stopped by for awhile to hang out with me.</div> <div> </div> <div>It was a great day that would have been perfect if the Browns could have gotten a "W" and beat the Dallas Cowboys, but it was not to be.   Hey, be sure to join the Gridiron Greats online social community and visit my profile.  I am looking forward to getting to know a lot of the fans!</div> <div> </div> <div> <div>This season many Gridiron Greats will head to Cleveland for meet and greet events on home game weekends.
